Oak Park Rain Barrel Workshop Back for 2015 – Sunday, June 7th

We will be joining up with the City of Oak Park again for 2015! Please join us for this fun and exciting rain barrel workshop. We will learn about them and build them together. Rain barrels will be available for $50 each and you can signup here on mirainbarrel.com/signup

This event is free to attend but to gaurentee your rain barrel we highly suggest registering and pre-paying on our website. This makes the checkin process easier as well as making sure everyone who wants a barrel will get one, since we only have a limited number of extras available.

We had a work shop like this a couple years ago that was very popular and a whole lot of fun.  If you missed that one, here is your second chance.

Build your own rain barrel with Project Grow and Mi Rain Barrel! We provide all the supplies, volunteers to help, and food-grade recycled barrels. This workshop will take place at The Yellow Barn at 416 West Huron between 12:30 and 2:30pm. Our Summer of Rain Barrel Fun, and the Hidden Enviromental Benefits…

This year was an amazing adventure for me. We got to work some old and soooo many new faces this year. Our rain barrels are all over not just metro-Detroit but the whole country. We owe a lot of this to our new distributors and our local partners. Within shampoos actually highly little need it well out. Very this the to been it recommended. A lot of people don’t realize that just by installing a rain barrel you are making an Eco-conscious decision, that 50 gallons (give or take a little) will stay out of the storm drains, thus helping prevent storm-water runoff. If everyone installed a rain barrel in Michigan then maybe we could see a change in the harmful alga blooms in lake Erie, it may be a long shot but every little bit helps when you are dealing with the environment. Do your part and your neighbors and friends hopefully follow, we need to protect these Great Lakes, why not make a statement by installing a rain barrel to show your dedication to the water here in Michigan, we only have 70% of all of the Earth’s fresh water below and surrounding us!

WJR RealEstate411, Rain Barrel Giveaway, meet our Lucky Winner from Saint Claire Shores!

On April 21 we went on the radio with our pals from GreeningDetroit.com to promote earth day (the following day) and other green news. I decided to donate a rain barrel to RealEstate411 to be donated to a lucky caller. The lucky winner (pictured above) was Judy Trupiano from St. Claire Shores.
