Join Sierra Club Great Lakes, MI Rain Barrel and Detroit Riverfront Conservancy for Rain Barrels on the Riverfront! This year we are returning to our original hands on in-person workshop, where we build the rain barrel together! The event will take place on Sunday, April 27th from 12:30pm - 3:00pm at Gabriel Richard Park (7130 E. Jefferson Detroit, MI 48207). Paint Your Rain Barrel is at 2:00pm (at the end of the workshop) you can paint your rain barrel with safe non-toxic paints and brushes, this is free of charge and fun! Assistance and painting materials provided by mirainbarrel. Please allow time for your the paint on your rain barrel to dry completely before loading it into your vehicle (estimated dry time is 20-30 min). Also consider prepping your vehicle by putting down a blanket, towel, cardboard in case the paint is still a bit wet. Rain barrels are available for the discounted price of $75.00 only at this event! Barrels must be purchased in advance to receive the discounted price, they will cost more the day of the event, There will be a limited amount of extras available on a first come first serve basis, so we highly encourage you pre-order to guarantee we will have a rain barrel for you the day of the event.
